Junior High Band (6th,7th, and 8th Grade)

 

The D50 Junior High School Band is comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from Beverly Manor Junior High School. Their curriculum includes marching band, concert band, and jazz band. We have early morning band every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:45am-8:20am. In addition to early morning rehearsals, each student receives a 20 minute lesson during the school day once a week. During marching band season, students attend a 3 day band camp the week before school starts in August. The band then marches in 3 parades in the month of September. Once we have finished our marching season, we spend the rest of the school year in concert band. Students have opporunities to participate in IMEA All-district auditions as well as IGSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest. We will also play for our basketball home games, and will participate in the Washington City Band Festival in March.
